Whether it’s grinding to a halt after every update, haemorrhaging visitors because it loads slowly, or simply doing nothing useful for your business anymore, I can take a proper look at what’s going on, give you an honest assessment, and either fix it properly or rebuild it in a way that actually holds up. No hand-holding required. No agency layers between you and the person doing the work.

Does any of this sound familiar?
Most of the people who get in touch with me aren’t sure whether their site is fixable or whether they need to start again. They just know something isn’t right. Maybe it’s been getting progressively slower and nobody seems to be able to get on top of it. Maybe it breaks after every WordPress update and the person who built it has long since disappeared. Maybe it’s full of plugins that nobody can remember installing, or it’s become so fragile that even small changes feel risky.
If you’re nodding along to any of that, you don’t need a new marketing strategy or another caching plugin. You need someone to get under the bonnet, work out what’s actually wrong, and fix it, or tell you honestly that a rebuild would cost less in the long run.
That’s what I do.

What working with me looks like
Technical Audit
Before anything else, I want to understand what you’re actually dealing with. I’ll go through your hosting setup, theme structure, plugin stack, code quality, performance bottlenecks and security configuration, and give you a straight answer on what’s salvageable, what needs fixing, and whether a rebuild would be the smarter move. No jargon, no upselling, just a clear picture of where things stand.
Clean-Up & Optimisation
If the site is worth saving, I’ll get it into the shape it should have been in from the start. That means stripping out the plugin bloat that’s been accumulating for years, refactoring messy theme code, sorting out database and configuration issues that are quietly causing problems, and actually improving load speed, not just bolting on another caching layer and hoping for the best. Security hardening, broken functionality, fragile features that nobody wants to touch, all of it.
Rebuild (If Needed)
Sometimes a site has been patched so many times, by so many different people, that trying to save it costs more than starting fresh. When that’s the case, I’ll tell you, and if you want to go ahead with a rebuild, I’ll do it properly. A lean, well-chosen plugin stack. Clean, maintainable code that won’t fall apart when someone looks at it sideways. A backend that you can actually use without needing to call a developer every time something needs updating.
Why people come to me rather than an agency
Partly it’s the obvious stuff. You deal directly with the developer doing the work, there are no account managers playing telephone between you and the person who actually knows what’s going on, and there’s no incentive to recommend things you don’t need. But honestly, a lot of it comes down to experience. I’ve been doing this for 18 years, I’ve worked on sites for organisations like Pfizer, the NHS, Specsavers and Bacardi, and I built and sold my own commercial WordPress product. I’ve seen most of what can go wrong with a website, and I know how to fix it without making things worse in the process.
When I tell you something is fixable, it’s because it is. When I tell you it isn’t, it’s because rebuilding is genuinely the better option for you, not because I want the bigger project.
This probably isn't for everyone, but it might be for you
The people I tend to work best with are business owners and founders who’ve reached the point where their website has become a genuine liability rather than an asset. Maybe you’re running an ecommerce store that’s leaking customers because it’s too slow. Maybe you’re an agency that’s taken on a project and inherited a codebase that needs someone to come in and stabilise it. Maybe you’re a founder who’s been let down by a developer who disappeared mid-project, and you just need someone reliable to pick up where they left off and get it across the line.
If your website is actively getting in the way of your business and you want someone experienced to sort it out, let’s talk.
Not sure where to start? That's completely fine.
Most people who get in touch don’t have a neat brief ready to go. They just know something isn’t working and they want to talk to someone who might be able to help. That’s what the 15-minute call is for. It’s not a sales pitch, and there’s no obligation on either side. You tell me what’s going on with your site, I ask a few questions, and by the end of it you’ll have a clearer sense of whether I’m the right person to help and what the next step might look like.
If that sounds useful, book a time below or drop me a message and we’ll go from there.
Let's talk about your site
Tell me what’s going on, what the symptoms are, how long it’s been an issue, and what you’ve already tried. I’ll come back to you with an honest view of what I think is happening and whether it’s something I can help with. If it isn’t, I’ll tell you that too.
